NOW OPEN! THE OUTSTANDING 2018 WORLD PRESS PHOTO EXHIBITION
After much anticipation, the thought-provoking World Press Photo Exhibition is now showing Saturday 30 June to Sunday 29 July at Smith and Caughey’s Level 6 Gallery Space, Queen Street.
This year’s striking collection features vivid photographs that seek to capture the magnificent complexities of our world today. Take a moment to absorb the visceral reality of our globe in this eclectic showcase exhibiting works shot by the most talented photojournalists of our time.
Amongst a range of other provocative images, soak in the serene sight of students from the Kijini Primary School learning to swim and perform rescues right in the Indian Ocean, off Muyuni Beach, Zanzibar. While girls in the Zanzibar Archipelago have traditionally been banned from swimming due to cultural and religious beliefs, social initiatives have sought to provide appropriate clothing for girls to learn to swim.
