SCULPTURE TRAIL ON THE ROTARY WALKWAY

Our Club was Chartered on the 6th May, 1970 . Over the past few years  the Club has been giving thought to an appropriate project to mark the 50th Anniversary.

Last year the above project was formally adopted and we are to kick start a sculpture trail along the Rotary walkway. This is to generate future support for the overall concept....

We have been in discussions with the Howick Local Board, Auckland City Council, Te Tuhi and Uxbridge who fully support the project.  Talks with the ACC Public Arts Team commenced earlier this year and following numerous on site visits the Council has agreed to provide support including finance and ongoing expertise and project management until the installation is completed in February Y2020.

The walk way is already listed by council as tourist feature in the Howick Pakuranga area and the addition of a sculpture trail will further enhance this

The Sculpture trail is to provide a community focus and encourage a wider cross section of the community to use the walkway and the outdoors

The trail will leverage the clubs existing identity with the walkway and the Rotary Reserve

A steering Committee including representatives from Uxbridge and Te Tuhi ACC and Rotary to be established  and meet –September
