On Monday 16th the club welcomed Andrew Laing from East Auckland Tourism whose address was basically a reminder to “don't leave home until you've seen our own great part of the country.”
Set up in 2013, initially as Howick Tourism, East Auckland Tourism has the role of ensuring that Aucklanders [and beyond] know and use the attractions of our local area. Those attractions are many and varied and include the many physical attractions along with cultural and heritage landmarks, art galleries, village and mall shopping, local markets, and hospitality and food.
The area is also host to a wide variety of both large and small events that attract people from far and wide. From Aviation Ardmore to Wag n Walk and multiple events in-between. East Auckland Tourism supports and promotes these activities in the community, have developed interactive maps so people can explore and host an informative and innovative website.
