Thinking Positive

With an on going issue of numbers etc it's easy to get gloomy.  .

It was therefore both timely and uplifting to get an upbeat and positive reminder from Bill Duncan and David Wardell about the work of the Bill and Lorna Boyd Trust and the other myriad areas Rotary and our club have contributed to locally, nationally and internationally.

Bills very obvious pride in being a member of Rotary, and of being part of the introduction of Bill Boyd to the Rotary world is a great reminder of the power of Rotary and of the ability of even smaller clubs at the far end of the world to make a very positive difference.

We do have a strong fellowship aspect to what we do and value but we are of course much more than that.

Making the donation to St Johns.

The visit to the club of our new District Governor Kirsten Hawke was a good opportunity to be able to present St Johns with the proceeds fro out annual golf day. That day requires a great deal of planning and effort from Alan Davies and his team and handing over the money to such a good cause is always a fitting end to that year's work.

Trees for Survival

Trees for Survival was a Rotary Club of Pakuranga initiative, one that has grown  from small beginnings to one which now involved in planting in areas across New Zealand. The work that the very capable team at Trees for Survival has been recognised by the

2degrees Auckland Business Awards!
They are rightfully  thrilled to be a Finalist in the 2degrees Auckland Business Awards. This is a testament to the hard work of our fantastic team!

2025 Planting Season
With more than 160,000 plants in the ground already, the TfS 2025 planting season is not over yet!  Planting days are the culmination of hard work by schools and landowners and we are thankful to these amazing landowners (some first time and others seasoned TfS school hosts)  who have prepared sites,  cleared weeds, cooked  lunches and welcomed school groups to their property to be actively engaged in environmental restoration. Joining landowners embarking on their first planting and others experienced in restoration projects, TfS enables students to have a real impact on enhancing habitat which benefits everybody!
