Let’s embrace some change and make Rotary more fun and exciting. We have to consider a falling membership from retirements, moving out of the area and just getting too busy with other things. To just replace them is not that easy as it is harder to get younger people to commit the time especially for a weekly dinner meeting along with committee meetings as well as projects. Surely at least some of the answers are there with the new satellite club. They will have shorter meetings, less administration and concentrate on local projects. This is backed up by the entry/exit survey results that Sylvie presented recently. We need to keep Rotary exciting, entertaining, not too time-consuming and interesting for members. So what is ahead? Two meetings a month on the 1st and 3rd Mondays? Fellowship nights on the 2nd and 4th Mondays? No committees just project teams? Vibrant entertaining meetings with interjections and more fun? Great social occasions on the 5th Monday months? July, October and April The 30th July meeting is already for the great rotary pie competition at NZ Bakels. This coincides with the NZ Bakels Supreme Pie Awards with judging on 26 July and pie and announcement of results 31 July Details will be in the next Bulletin |
